Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts is a 20 person piano sales, restoration and service facility. We began out of a garage as a small piano service company in the late 1970's, officially becoming Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts Inc. in 1983, and since then have carried on business in our current location in the geographical center of Toronto. Our main new product lines are:

  • Bosendorfer Grand pianos.
  • Bechstein Grand and upright pianos
  • Schimmel Grand and upright pianos.
  • Knabe Grand and upright pianos.
  • Sohmer Grand and upright pianos.
  • Kohler & Campbell Grand and upright pianos.
  • Hazelton Grand and upright pianos.
  • Heintzman and Nordheimer Grand and upright pianos.
  • Roland digital pianos and Atelier organs.
  • Rodgers classical organs.

These new instruments are complemented by a wide variety of restored and reconditioned pianos which are featured throughout our 18,000 sq.ft. facility.

By far the most distinguishing characteristic of Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts is our large piano workshop area where pianos from the turn-of-the-century are made new again. These workshops occupy most of the second floor of our building. We enjoy taking people through the shops in order to give them a sense of how pianos are made and their history.

In addition to our "in-house" technicians, we have 3 full-time outside technicians and an 8 person sales / office staff. The average length of employment here is 15 years, perhaps because of an ideal working environment, and the opportunity to perform work of uncompromising quality.

Our technical depth enables us to provide far more service assurances than most piano stores: e.g. we always provide our own "in-house" warranty in addition to new piano manufacturer's warranty. We do this because piano manufacturer's warranties are overly stringent. It is also a lot easier for us to act more promptly and sympathetically to a service need than a regular piano dealer, who may have to depend on sub-contracted technicians.

Service depth is important for new pianos as well. Unlike a new washing machine, or television set, a piano needs to be properly pre-serviced before it is delivered, and every manufacturer has manuals describing their pre-servicing requirements. Many new piano dealers do little or no pre-servicing at all; all of Robert Lowrey's Piano Expert's new pianos are thoroughly pre-serviced.

Having a "Workshop Tour" or just visiting our showrooms and workshops is always an interesting and enjoyable experience. In fact we regularly schedule tours of our facility for music teachers and their classes, school groups, and other interested parties. There are always extraordinary pianos being restored and many projects on the go. A huge variety of new and reconditioned inventories can be seen.

We also have separate showrooms for Roland digital pianos, Roland Atelier home organs and Rodgers classical organs where our patient, well-informed sales staff will help you decide if an electonic instrument would be your best choice.
